DREAM the dream, RUN toward the dream, LIVE the dream.
HI, I'm Heather Griffith, and I've always loved to run from day one, but back then I only ran one mile/day. I never knew I would be capable of running 120 and up to 200 miles/week every week for months consistently! With the help of my high school and University of Louisville coaches, I have developed a more competitive streak. However, I still run for the pure enjoyment and experience of it. I became interested in long distances when I began pushing myself beyond what I had done before! I find it is important to stretch our own limits so we can actually find what we're made of! I encourage every runner who enjoys the sport at all to KEEP REACHING and EXPLORE GREATER POSSIBILITIES because you can do more than you've already done and possibly more than you think you can!!! Don't just dream it...get out and do it! Don't just think about it, don't psych yourself out, just do it like it's natural! Running to me is what gives life to my life; it's what brings joy to my day more than anything else! What is it for you? Do what makes you most happy, and start living each day as though it's your last! Life is a beautiful thing! Live it!
TO INSPIRE OTHERS TO GET OUT AND RUN, OR TO INSPIRE OTHERS TO GO BEYOND WHAT THEY THINK IS POSSIBLE BY FINDING WHAT GOD MAKES POSSIBLE WHEN WE BELIEVE...THAT IS MY GOAL IN MY TRAINING AND IN MY RUNNING THE 350-MILE CONTINUOUS RUN. I FIND THAT IF IT WEREN'T FOR GOD, AND FOR GOD BLESSING ME WITH CERTAIN PEOPLE IN MY LIFE, I WOULDN'T BE ABLE TO GET THROUGH THE RUNS EACH DAY. I WISH THAT PEOPLE AROUND THE WORLD MAY COME TO KNOW GOD THROUGH MY RUNNING. THAT PEOPLE WILL SEE GOD LIVING IN ME, BECAUSE HE IS THE REASON I AM WHO I AM. I RUN FOR HIM AND I RUN FOR OTHERS, BUT I HOPE NEVER TO RUN SIMPLY FOR MYSELF. WHEN DOING SOMETHING GOOD FOR OTHERS, WE ARE ACTUALLY GLORIFYING GOD IN THE SAME (MATT 25:40). BY GLORIFYING GOD IN EACH AND EVERY WAY POSSIBLE THROUGH WHAT I AM MOST PASSIONATE ABOUT (RUNNING), GOD WILL LIFT ME UP...I WILL "FLY ON WINGS LIKE EAGLES, RUN AND NOT GROW WEARY, WALK AND NOT BE FAINT" (ISAIAH 40:31)!
THE 150-MILE TRAINING RUN IN JULY AND THE BLUE RIDGE RELAY 208 SOLO IN SEPTEMBER I HAVE DROPPED FROM MY RACE SCHEDULE; I NOW AM FOCUSING MORE ON THE RIGHT KIND OF TRAINING SO THAT I CAN NOT ONLY RACE, BUT RACE WELL.
